Denon AVR790 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity Features
Denon AVR790 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity Overviews The new AVR-790 is packed with technology and features making it the clear choice for value oriented consumers looking for exceptional performance. Each of its 7-amplifier channels produce 90-watts of power, delivering detail and dynamics to music and movie soundtracks. They can be configured for 7.1 channel surround sound, or drive a 5.1 channel system in the main room and power a pair of speakers in a second “zone”. It’s equipped with 1080p compatible HDMI 1.3a Repeating technology, delivering both audio and video to your HDTV with single HDMI cable. This HDMI connectivity supports the latest generation surround sound formats available on Blu-ray disc, including Dolby TrueHD and DD+, dts-HD and dts-HR. Also included is Dolby Laboratories new Pro Logic IIz Matrix decoding featuring front height effects channels that expands front soundstage. The AVR790 boast a number of Audyssey technologies. Advanced Audyssey MultEQ analyzes a speaker systems interaction with room acoustics, and then delivers custom tailored correction processing to optimize clarity and tonal balance throughout the listening space. Audyssey Dynamic Volume is an automatic volume-leveling system that tracks audio dynamics to eliminate the irritating volume swings between TV shows and commercials. Audyssey Dynamic EQ is also on board to ensure rich bass and smooth tonal balance at low volume listening levels. In addition to enhanced HDMI 1.3a repeating (4 in, 1 out), the AVR790 is the least expensive receiver in the Denon lineup to feature 1080p i/p conversion, analog to HDMI upscaling and HDMI to HDMI scaling. Video conversion is accomplished using a premium Anchor Bay Technologies 1030 chip set featuring 10-bit processing. The AVR1910 also features component video switching (2 in, 1 out), seven analog inputs, and multi-zone (2) / multi-source (2) capability. A front-panel audio/video input allows quick and easy connection of camcorders and game systems. Related Products
Customer Review Best Customer Review : A friend recommended Denon as a good receiver when I started shopping for a replacement for my 30 year old Sansui Stereo. He worked for a Home theater installer and said they never had an unhappy customer after setting them up with a Denon system. I've been using this receiver for a couple of months now and couldn't be happier with it. Set it up with some good quality speakers and you won't regret buying it. I went with Cerwin Vega VE series center and surrounds to go with a pair of Cerwin Vega Three way floor speakers I already had. The system sounds better than any boxed system I've ever heard. I listen to a lot of music (all kinds)and it's a joy to hear old favorites with a degree of clarity and precision I didn't know was possible. With my home made 12" powered sub woofer my home theater sound rivals any theater I've been in. Just hearing the Dolby Surround or THX intro noise at the beginning of several movies has sent shivers of pleasure up and down my spine! Literally! And the reciever does a great job of converting Any stereo or 5.1 source, digital or analog, into great sounding 7.1 surround sound. The Audyssey auto speaker calibration works great, just plug in the supplied microphone and follow easy to understand on screen instructions. I found the manual to be a little confusing at first and the two sided remote takes some getting used to but now I do all I need to with ease. I would highly recommend this receiver to anyone that wants 7.1 sound or 5.1 with stereo in another zone such as bedroom or patio. You can download the manual from the Denon website for a more in depth look at the possibilities and capabilities of this marvelous (IMHO) receiver. Customer Review 1 : Denon AVR 790 = Excellent! - JohnTempe - Tempe, AZ USA What an upgrade from my previous system- excellent surround sound with the Audyssey EQ. A great value for the sound alone, but also has upscaling/upconverting Analog to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI, to 1080p. My 7.1 is set up with surrounds in the back, but you have the option of front height speakers instead. Hard to set up if you use the manual alone, so make sure you get Batpig's on-line guide (search "Batpigs Denon") and also read through the AVS forum owner's thread. The extra time it takes to understand the system and how to set it up is well worth it. |
